About this free music tech lesson
Here’s a free sample lesson plan from the collection of Super-Simple Music Tech Lessons (Using Free Websites) that are available in the Midnight Music Membership Community. This lesson features one of my favourite free tools—Incredibox—which I’ve been using since 2009!
In this lesson, students will learn about a cappella singing and beat-boxing as an art form and to identify the difference between melodic and percussive sounds.
Which age group/s does this lesson work with?
This lesson suits students in grades 4-8 (but you could probably extend beyond those age groups!).
Free website used in this lesson
This lesson uses the website Incredibox.
Incredibox has a free web version and a paid app. To access the free site, click on the Try Web Version button. You will be able to access the first 4 Incredibox styles (top row). The remaining Incredibox styles can be accessed via the paid app which is available for all devices. There is also a paid school version available which gives you and your students access to all styles in an ad-free, “closed” environment.
