MTT104: Teaching online due to school closures? Here are the 5 Tech Tools you Should Consider

This episode of the Music Tech Teacher Podcast is going to be a little different and we’re going to take an unscheduled break from our theme of the month.

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, there are a number of schools that have closed indefinitely and many other schools are preparing for possible future closures. This has meant that educators are now teaching remotely – they are at home, teaching students who are in their own homes. There’s a lot of discussion about this online and many teachers are being asked to formulate plans for remote teaching just in case.

In this episode, I cover the 5 types of tech tools that can help you teach remotely.

    Hi Katie,
I use GarageBand with my students at school. Is there comparable software students could access on their chromebooks during this time of distance learning?

Soundtrap would be ideal – or Bandlab. You need to make sure you sign up for the education versions of those to ensure student privacy and safety and also to get access to the education features.
